A large egg-shaped structure with a crack sits on a platform by a foggy lake. A red staircase leads to an entrance on the egg. It's surrounded by miniature figures and dense forest in the background under a cloudy sky.

Our proposal involved the development of the Broken Egg Pavilion located on a lake in the Modern Art Museum/ Sculpture Park Inhotim in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The artist Ingo Maurer expressed the wish to create a ‘surreal experience’ in the heart of the park.

The site is utilized for timed events such as light installations, performances and events both during the day and evening. The Egg accommodates fixed seating and a combined entrance/exit plus emergency escape which also provides entry for mobility impaired persons.
